EDELRID Lite Climbing Helmet

The SALATHE LITE is nearly 20% lighter than its larger counterpart! EDELRID has achieved this reduction in weight by replacing the traditional ABS shell with Curv, the latest generation of an extremely high performance thermoplastic material. It possesses similar properties to fiber-reinforced composites like carbon: good rigidity, high tensile strength, and exceptional impact resistance-all while being very lightweight. The helmet also features a fully adjustable chin strap with a closure system under the ear for greater comfort, an ultra-light EPP core (expanded polypropylene) for outstanding shock absorption and high dimensional stability, easily adjustable harness straps for a secure fit, minimal pack size, and excellent ventilation. Additionally, the helmet includes a headlamp attachment with 2 clips at the front and an elastic strap at the back, large vents to ensure a constant supply of fresh air and heat dissipation, and a specially designed shape for use with ski goggles. The ergonomically-shaped interior has removable, washable padding, and the helmet has been side/front/back impact tested according to EN 12492. The robust hard shell is made from innovative, ultra-light Curv material in the upper and front areas for additional protection, for example in the event of rockfall.
